this is a long one but trust me the end is so worth it!
I have had the last week of work, which i might add was lovely!
I have no photos of my week away which is odd considering i can be somewhat of a camera whore.
Tuesday night we packed up the car and headed off to Portland, by we i mean Rai, Cailey, Steph and myself.
We stopped in Colac which is about 2 hrs from Melbourne and had McDonald's for dinner which always seems like a good idea at the time, but never such a good idea about an hour or so later.
As we got back into the car to continue driving we all decided that the following day we would go out to the dunes and go sand boarding which was an awesome idea until we realised none of us had boards... which probably isn't a problem because we could most likely borrow boards from someone... but what if by some random act of crapfulness we couldn't?!
Well...then the inner criminal in all of us needed to come out.
We decided by the time we hit Port fairy it would be dark enough to go on a little "FOR SALE" sign stealing rampage.
We stopped off in Warnambool for a quick toilet stop and to meet up with Johnno, Steve and one of their mates Ash, whilst discussing our little sign stealing plan it is decided that after that we should make our way to Yambuk to go down the massive slide there... TOP IDEA!!!
So we all head off in the direction of the Yambuk slide. We ended up in Port Fairy before the boys so we slowly stalked up and down the quiet streets of Port Fairy looking for some signs.... JACKPOT 3 signs all in a row!! SO out of the car jumps Rai, Steph and Cailey and very stealth like they begin to rip the signs off the front fences (i stayed in the car however for 2 reasons.. 1. someone had to put the signs into the car once they were off the fence and 2. last time i went sign stealing my friends and i got busted by the police! It was probably safer this way lol) Once all 3 signs are in the car the boys call telling us that they are dropping Steve off on the corner just before the caravan park because ash was sick and needed to go home but Steve didn't want to miss out on the slide... i know we are all adults yet we're so pumped for the slide! We pick Steve up, squish him in to the car and head off to Yambuk! Its about 11pm when we arrive and i shit you not this slide was huge! I'm shattered i didn't get a photo of it because it really was awesome.
Now of course going down the slide is fairly boring so to liven things up a little Steve put sand on it and then decided to go down it on one of the "FOR SALE" signs....
Seemed like a great idea, everyone (except me... signs, slides and sand would only end in disaster for me) started going down and by the time you hit the bottom you had picked up so much speed that landing without stacking was not an option. Rai Face planted twice which was hilarious... then came the last time.
Its so dark and all you can hear is Rai squealing as she comes down the slide. Then as she gets closer to the bottom and into the cars headlights she flys off the slide jamming her foot and yet again face planting, all you can hear is Rai laughing then as she slowly calms down a little "ouch".
After that i guess everyone came to their senses and we all got back into the car and kept on to Portland. By the time we arrive it was about 12.30am so we were dropped off at Rai's mums house where we went to bed.
The following day which was meant to be filled with sand boarding was spent lazing around and then at the Portland hospital, Rai was unable to walk to we figured the best thing to do was to head down to casualty. Now Portland isn't an overly big town so imagine my suprise when it took more then an hour to be seen by a nurse who tells us "yep its not broken but it looks like you have over stretched the ligaments... what size crutches do you need?" more then an hour for that?! are you kidding me?! So for the rest of the time Rai had to hobble around on a sweet pair of crutches. That night before bed i put egg white on her foot to help take the swelling out, she thought i was being stupid and that it would never work.... HA all i have to say is told you so!! Considering i am the queen of stacks as if i wouldnt know a good old home remedy! (thanks Zia sonia!) Wednesday night and Thursday were both spent visiting people... it the only thing i hate about going to Portland for such a short amount of time... i never get to see everyone and when i leave i feel bad!
Thursday night we headed out to the Iron Bar for a couple of drinks, luckily rai couldn't have any she was unco as it was on those damn crutches i highly doubt she could've stood up if she had any alcohol in her system.
It was a fairly low key night so we decided to go home. by 7am Friday morning we were back in the car on our way home. i thought it would be a smart idea to have a snooze on the way home...apparently not because i woke up with pink highlighter all over me... THANKS GUYS!!!
Friday night i went out to the greatest Japanese restaurant for dinner... everything is amazing every time i go.... OH makes me hungry just thinking about it.
Last night i had a BBQ on chapel street at Bangers new humble abode but considering i have all of a sudden developed this awesome chest infection i really wasn't in the mood so i came home early.
On my way home i received a text message from the first boy i can ever remember liking, I'm talking grade 2 so i was like 8 years old. We went to high school together where we actually dated in about 1999 but he ended up going to another school and we kept in contact as friends for a little while but after a while it stopped and that was pretty much it until about a year ago where i ran into him. Then recently he found me on face book and he asked for my number so we could catch up and because i still see some of our old friends we could all get together.... THIS IS WHERE THINGS GET COMPLICATED.
You see he recently got married... which is fine with me but when he asked for my number i told him that on the condition his WIFE didn't have a problem with it then i would happily catch up cos it had been so long, plus as far as i was concerned it was a group catch up. He then told me that his wife wouldn't have a problem with him catching up with old friends from school. I thought nothing of it.
So last night i get this text message saying "hey you, what you up to?"
i replied telling him where and what i was doing and asked him how he was.
A couple of just normal messages later i get one saying "when i saw you a year ago all i wanted to do was kiss you".... WHAT THE?!
so i wrote back "last time i saw you, you had a fiance now WIFE and a beautiful one at that, do you really think you should be saying things like that?"
His reply..."i know but i still have some sort of feelings for you. Why didn't we work out?"
Firstly i don't think that things when your 15-16 are meant to work out!
I pretty much told him i didn't think it was such a good idea to catch up... which really sucks. I would love to catch up with him and i know everyone else would, but i just don't feel comfortable putting myself in that sort of situation. I know i would never do anything but i think it would be wrong catching up with him after what he said.
I just can comprehend how you say things like that to someone other then your wife?
What the hell... i hope his wife doesn't go through his phone because although i didn't write anything that could be taken the wrong way he however did.
I haven't heard anything since but my friends have a big cricket game coming up against his cricket club which i was going to attend because its always the best game of the season, however now i think i might just have to avoid it.
awkward much?
